Worcester U14's 8 - Droitwich U14's 20
Sunday, November 25, 2007
This was a game that the Droitwich team knew they could win after narrowly losing to Worcester two weeks previously.
From the kick-off Droitwich chased and caused the Worcester backs to make errors, which led to Curtis Tonks picking up a loose ball and crashing over to score.
Charlie Hartley kicked a penalty just before half time and Worcester responded with 3 points just after the re-start.
The Droitwich pack were well on top with the front row of Dave Hill, Adam Johns and Blake “Yogi” Bair taking three against the head. The half back pairing of Skinner and Boon controlled play with some superb kicks and quick ball which, with decisive running from Ollie Price and Tonks, saw Alex Bradnick go over twice in the corner with Hartley converting.
Worcester never gave up and despite great defending from McKee and Grove they scored just before full time. A great game where all the Droitwich players played and gave 100% from start to finish.

In their first Division One league game of the season Droitwich RFC played host to Luctonians RFC.
In horrendous conditions both sides got down to business and attacked at every opportunity. Good defence from both sides cancelled each other out, as the game swung from one end to the other.
Just before half time Droitwich conceded a silly penalty in front of the posts to go behind, with the score staying 3 - 0 to Luctonians until half time.
The second half saw Droitwich with the wind at their backs and start to turn the screw and gain territory at every opportunity. Droitwich took the lead through Chris Rouse who crossed the line after a superb run early on, with Bobby Scott-Walker converting.
Droitwich's second try came from Adam Gwilliam who crashed over from a 5 metre scrum to open up a lead that Droitwich never looked like surrendering.
Man of the match was Jon Dowson who was superb and involved in everything.
Droitwich U15's 52 - Kidderminster U15's 0
Sunday, November 18, 2007
This was a match played in terrible conditions, but this didn’t stop Droitwich putting in the display of the season. From the kick-off Droitwich exerted constant pressure on the Kidderminster line with Sam Cave and Alex Knudsen running in to score two quick tries within the first 5 minutes.
Droitwich continued to press with some outstanding play from the forwards and backs, resulting in Adam Sutterby scoring a hat trick of tries, with a conversion from Sam Cave.
Just before the half time whistle James Craig charged over the line to give a half time score of Droitwich 32 Kidderminster 0.
The second half started much like the first with Droitwich on the attack with forwards and backs working together like a well oiled machine, never allowing Kidderminster time or space to play their game. Droitwich continued to press all through the half, playing some excellent rugby with two tries from Jack Knight, a second from Sam Cave and a debut try from Sam Brown.
The final score was Droitwich 52 - Kidderminster 0.
Coach's Comments: This was an outstanding display of team rugby, and all players should be proud of their performance today.
Man of the Match: It would not be right to single out one player - this was a team effort. Well done to all.
