Droitwich U15's 22 -Dudley Kingswinford U15's 8

This fixture saw two teams with a long history of close games. The first half was an even battle with both teams determined to ask for and give no quarter to each other.

After a long period of pressure in the Droitwich half, Dudley took the first opportunity to score with a penalty from under the posts. From the restart Droitwich immediately pushed Dudley back to their try line with some impressive scrimmaging which was rewarded when Craig Brown dived over for Droitwich’s first try of the game.

Both teams then engaged in a mid pitch battle, which ended when Dudley scored a breakaway try in the corner, but was unsuccessful with the conversion.

Droitwich driven on by some outstanding forward play again pushed Dudley back over the halfway line where Jack Knight broke through Dudley’s defensive lines to score Droitwich’s second try of the half. The half ended with Droitwich leading Dudley 10 points to 8.

The second half saw Droitwich take the initiative with more excellent scrimmaging by the forwards, and some inspired positional kicking from Ginge and Matt Watts allowing Droitwich to exert relentless pressure on the Dudley defensive line, which finally broke with Sam O’Brian continuing his scoring streak with two tries and Ginge adding one conversion, the final score Droitwich 22 Dudley Kingswinford 8.
