Tuesday, September 18, 2007

Droitwich and Moseley fielded two very committed under 15 sides in a friendly, based on three 20 minute periods.

The very windy conditions affected both teams with Moseley having the advantage of playing with their backs to the wind for the first and second periods.

Scoring was brisk in the first period with Moseley taking advantage of some poor scrimmaging from Droitwich to score 3 tries and one conversion to nil.

The second period saw Droitwich step up their game with the pack and backs playing most of the period in Moseley’s half of the field, restricting Moseley to a single try and conversion.

The third period again saw Droitwich playing most of the period in Moseley’s half, restricting Moseley to a single breakaway try and conversion. Droitwich, with the added advantage of the wind at their backs, pressed for a score of their own.

Finally, after prolonged pressure the Droitwich pack pushed Moseley from the 22 to their try line, allowing Jack Knight to score a well deserved try which was converted by man of the match Sam Cave.

Final score Droitwich 7 Moseley 31.
