Droitwich RFC U16's recorded the double over Bromsgrove U16's this weekend with a home win to compliment their earlier away win at Finstall Park.

Droitwich applied early pressure with home advantage, despite going behind to an early Bromsgrove penalty. This pressure was rewarded when Chris Rouse scored in the corner to give Droitwich a 5 - 0 lead.

Calum Kinghorn extended Droitwich's lead mid way through the first half and, with Bobby Scott-Walker adding the conversion, gave the Spa side a good lead. A second Bromsgrove penalty late in the second half brought the score back to 12 - 6.

The second half saw Droitwich creating much of their own pressure as handling mistakes allowed Bromsgrove to halt the Droitwich attack. However Bromsgrove had no answer when Chris Rouse crossed the line for his second of the game.

Bromsgrove's try came from a handling mistake from Droitwich, who fumbled on their own line only to see a Bromsgrove hand get there first. With the score at 17 - 13 a tense final 10 minutes ensued but Droitwich held on to record a deserved victory.

Sam Davenport, David Edwards, Bobby Scott-Walker and Tom Stedman all put in big performances for Droitwich, but Chris Rouse was the man of the match for his two tries.
