Droitwich RFC U16's 22 - Telford RFC U16's 7

Droitwich U16's won through to the Semi-Final of the North Mids. Plate with a superb win over Telford RFC. In a tight game both teams put up strong defences and it took a while for Droitwich to unpick Telford's solid line.

This was done from a superb well worked move from the Droitwich backs, with Sam Davenport finishing it off with style after running a fantastic angle. Telford's only try came from a Droitwich fumble on the try line, which they seized upon.

As the game progressed Droitwich applied increasing pressure with Telford spending little time in Droitwich's half.

With 15 minutes to go Droitwich went for the penalty kick, only to see it bounce off the post and into the arms of the rushing Droitwich attack, which resulted in Calum Kinghorn crossing the line in the corner after some good handling.

Bobby Scott-Walker then added another penalty to take the game out of the visitors reach. With the game won Droitwich started to open up their attacking options to the frustration of Telford. Luke Harris finished off the scoring seizing onto a beautifully weighted cross field kick into the corner.

Bobby Scott-Walker kicked 2 out of 3 conversions to see Droitwich through into the next round, converting a difficult kick from the touch line.
