Wychavon Sports Recognition Awards for outstanding contribution to Sport
Monday, February 5, 2007
Droitwich RFC were honoured with two trophies at this year's Wychavon Sports Recognition Awards for outstanding contribution to Sport, winning the Club of the Year and Volunteer of the Year awards.
At the presentation evening held at the Council Offices at Pershore on Thursday 1st February 2007, representatives from Droitwich RFC joined other winners in the area to receive their awards and celebrate the true spirit of sport in the community.
The Club of the Year award was collected on behalf of the club by Bob Squire and represents the hard work and dedication shown by everyone in the club from players, coaches and committee members.
This is the second time Droitwich RFC have won the award and shows the determination by all its members to put the club at the heart of the community and provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere that we can all be proud of.
It is through the hard work from all involved at DRFC that enabled us to win this award and praise must go to all its members who have worked tirelessly to make DRFC into such a well respected club. We should all take pride in the fact that everyone played their part to achieve this award.
The winners of the Wychavon awards will now be nominated for the County Awards later in the year where hopefully your dedication and hard work will once again be recognised.
Volunteer of the year was won by Paul Edwards.
