Dudley Kingswinford U16's 8 - Droitwich U16's 26

Sunday, November 26, 2006

Dudley Kingswinford started well in the opening minutes and got onto the scoreboard first through a penalty in the opening minutes. Soon after they seized upon a Droitwich handling error and opened up an eight point lead in this hard fought game.

Droitwich came storming back putting D.K. under a lot of pressure only to see silly mistakes deny them on a number of occasions. Droitwich's opening score came from Max Fitter after bursting through the D.K. defence. Bobby Scott-Walker added the conversion. D.K. took the 8 - 7 lead into the half-time break, despite Droitwich having the majority of the possession.

The second half saw Droitwich start as they finished the first half with D.K. spending very little time in Droitwich's half. Droitwich pressure was soon rewarded and they started to put points on the board through some excellent passing moves, with Charlie Fry finishing in style in the corner.

This was soon followed up with tries by Danny Garner and Harry Baillie through excellent team moves, after some slick handling along the back line.

Superb line-out work by Shamus Sharkey won a lot of D.K. ball throughout, while the Droitwich defence once again held firm.

Joint Man of the Match was awarded to Tom Barker and Charlie Fry.

Tries: Fitter, Fry, Garner, Baillie.

Con.: Scott-Walker (3)
