Droitwich U16's 12 - Stourbridge U16's 5
Sunday, November 12, 2006
Droitwich RFC U16's were given a tough test on Sunday when Stourbridge RFC U16's pushed them hard. Droitwich had to come from behind to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
Stourbridge opened the scoring in the early minutes after seizing on an opportunity from a miss-kick to take a five point lead. Droitwich then came back strongly to pressure Stourbridge on a number of occasions only to see their defence hold.
The second half saw Droitwich continue to press looking for the breakthrough and it finally came from Chris Rouse who sprinted through the gap to score in the corner. Droitwich's second came from Luke Harris who danced through a number of tackles to score.
Bobby Scott-Walker converted the second try to give Droitwich a seven point cushion with ten minutes to go, which they held onto with a fine defensive display.
Shamus Sharkey put in a good display throughout the second half to help Droitwich dominate at the line-out.
