Droitwich RFC U16's 29 - Old Hales RFC U16's 5

Sunday, October 22, 2006

Droitwich RFC U16's continued their fine start to the season with a good win over neighbouring side Old Hales, despite having a number of players away on County duty.

Droitwich started off strongly with 95 % of the first half played in their opponent's half. Harry Baillie opened the scoring, powering over under the posts and did the same minutes before half time to give Droitwich a 14 - 0 lead at the break.

The second half started off as the first finished with Droitwich pressing to increase their lead, which they did through Danny Garner who linked up well with Shaun Hooper to crash over.

Old Hales struck back through an interception midway through the second half only to see Luke Harris and Chris Rouse put Droitwich further ahead moments later. This was a good performance despite Droitwich making numerous handling errors, with excellent performances by Connor Davies, Jacob Phillips and Dan Wilkinson.

Joint man of the match was awarded to Hooper and Rouse.
