Sunday, April 24, 2005

Sunday 24th April proved to be the 1st defeat of the Black team this current season.

The game commenced and Droitwich were kept on the back foot by a very passionate opposition and strange refereeing decisions. A penalty was the only diference splitting the sides at half time 3-0 to home side. Penalty count 35 -1 home side.

Droitwich then applied immense pressure and scored an outstanding try from Ted Lang and converted by Mike Penn. 7-3, not surprisingly the penalty count increased but David Pit ran through and touched down, referee decided to disallow the try saying he dropped the ball!!!!!!!!!

Then as is the policy of the coaches replacements entered the game and during the upheavel Abercynon scored a try out wide 8-7, Droitwich continued to win ball and have to penalised and given backthen, even. with this happening the Droitwich team had 2 simple opportunities to add further tries they missed the chances. To round of an amazing day the referee awarded a DISPUTED try. Final Score 13-7 to Abercynon. Most important statistics was penalty count of 52 -3 to home side, CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BOYS ON A PERFORMANCE AGAINST THE ODDS.
