Market Bosworth U16 0 - Droitwich U16 54

Sunday, March 6, 2005

This game, playing Leicestershire's leading side, was a new fixture for Droitwich. The match was scheduled as a Gold fixture but due to the anticipated strength of the opposition the side was a mixture of Black and Gold players.

Once again allowing the team the honour of playing on the home club's 1st team pitch, the game started at a gallop. Within two minutes Alex Shaw scored a very good individual try, converted by Scott Morris. With total forward dominance further tries were scored by Scott Morris, Matt Newell (2), Paul Burton and David Pitt with one of those converted by Scott Morris. The half time score was 34-0.

All the replacements were included at half time. It took ten minutes to organise themselves before further tries were scored by David Pitt (2), Stefan Buijnsters and Andy Green. With none of these tries being converted, the final score was 54-0.

Congratulations must go to home side Market Bosworth as they never gave in and never stopped tackling. The Droitwich squad gave a super exhibition and the performance of the Gold players was of particular note.
