Droitwich Gold U16's versus Old Halesonians U16's

Sunday, January 16, 2005

Droitwich Golds continued their winning ways against a stubborn and very committed Old Hales team in a week that saw Mike Penn gain selection for the England trials weekend..

In the first half Droitwich were in total control of the game. They spent the majority of the half camped in the opponent's 22m area, but Droitwich struggled to turn possession and territory into points.

Paul Byrne broke the deadlock when he crashed over from 5 metres, taking three defenders over the line with him.

Droitwich continued to control the game in the second half. A good move saw the ball pass through the hands of all the backs to put Ian Young into the corner for the try.
