Old Hales U14's 14 - Droitwich U14's 22
Sunday, January 16, 2005
In muddy conditions Old Hales opened up an early 14 point lead through poor defending making good use of home advantage. Droitwich then dug deep and tightened things up and were rewarded when Matt Cook crossed the line with a determined run. Calum Kinghorn then brought Droitwich back into the game to add another. At half-time Old Hales led 14 - 12.
The second half saw Droitwich dominate the game, winning good possession. Harry Baille scored Droitwich's third, driving through a crowd of players to hit the line.
Man of the Match, Jonathan Dowson, finished off a superb game by putting his name on the score sheet to give Droitwich a hard but well deserved win.
Luke Harris put in some good well timed runs to put Old Hales under pressure throughout, while Connor Davies put in a good performance at No. 3. Bobby Scott-Walker scored one of his four conversion attempts.
