Droitwich draw Bromsgrove in the Cup

Wednesday, December 22, 2004

Droitwich have been given a plum home draw against local rivals Bromsgrove in the North Midlands Cup Quarter Finals. The tie has been scheduled for Saturday, 12th February, but with this being an international weekend the two clubs will liaise to re-arrange the fixture to the Friday night (11th) or the Sunday afternoon (13th).

Droitwich RFC Captain, Matt Blackmore said,

Obviously our main targets for the second half of the season will be avoiding relegation! But this gives the lads something to look forward to. I can't remember the last time we played Bromsgrove in a competition (if we ever have), and, with Bromsgrove two leagues above and sitting in a fairly comfortable position, they will come to us brimming with confidence that they can progress into the semi finals. All we can do is get the boys up and ready for it and to also go out there and enjoy the occasion, because let's be honest we never know when these games will come about again. And let's not forget - you never know what can happen in the cup! (IT COULD BE 200!)

The full draw is as follows:

Malvern v. University College of Worcester
Droitwich v. Bromsgrove
Hereford, Aston Old Eds or Bridgnorth v. Luctonians or Camp Hill
Whitchurch or Old Salts v. Pershore or Ledbury
