Farewell to Nick Irwin

The club has bid a fond farewell to captain of the last two years, Nick Irwin.
Nick is returning to New Zealand before heading off to Sydney, Australia to live. He plans to play rugby at top Sydney club Randwick.

Nick played a leading role in Droitwich RFC's promotion campaign of 2002-03. He led from the front, often putting in some bone-crunching tackles on unsuspecting opponents.
Director of Rugby, Julian Bailey had this to say, “We will really miss his presence and leadership. I think he brought the best out of the youngsters and even the older ones who saw his commitment.”
The whole club undoubtedly wishes Nick all the best in the future.
