Droitwich U15’s 41 - Burton U15’s 0

Sunday 14th September 2008

Droitwich started well in their first match of the season and showed that they had not lost their hunger for the game.

From a scrum in the Burton 22 Harry Nutalll picked up at 8, crashed forward and off loaded to Josh Skinner who cut through to score.

Soon after good work from the forwards created quick ball for Ryan Boon who kicked a perfect cross kick for Sam Grove to catch and drive over in the corner.

From the kick off the Droitwich forwards powered their way up the pitch with Tom McKee and Harry Hudson combining well and Nutall hammering at the Burton defence. Skinner easily rounded two forwards to score his second.

Burton pushed back hard and pressurised the Droitwich line. From a counter-ruck Jean-Claude Massey broke through some poor tackling and ran the length of the pitch to score. More forward pressure saw Ollie Hughes Clarke crash over just before half time.

Changes by both teams saw the pace of the game change but Droitwich stayed in control. Dave Hill put in some super tackles to stop the Burton forwards and swift passing from Will Morris, Boon and Curtis Tonks put Ollie Price through to score under the posts.

Burton never gave up and pushed hard but good defence from Austin Davies, Owain Thomas and Callum Ford kept the Droitwich line safe.

Droitwich finished the game off with a second try from Massey. Boon kicked three conversions.

Well done to all the lads who delivered a great team performance.
