Droitwich U17’s 22 - Bredon U17’s 7

Sunday 9th September 2007

Droitwich U17’s faced a stern test against Bredon RFC on Sunday and ground out a hard 22 - 7 win over tough opposition.

Bredon opened the scoring with a converted try and gave Droitwich something to think about as handling mistakes kept on handing the advantage back to Bredon.

Droitwich’s breakthrough came from Will Ballion just before half time who touched down in the corner to take the score to 5 - 7 at the interval. Early in the second half Bobby Scott-Walker converted a penalty to take the home side one point ahead.

Droitwich then raised their game and were rewarded with a try by Luke Harris after a flowing move along the line. Adam Gwilliam then seized upon a loose ball to race over the line to increase Droitwich’s lead. Both tries were converted by Scott-Walker from a good distance out.

Excellent performances from Sharkey, Pomroy and Oliver Bastock helped ensure Droitwich came through this tough test.
