Droitwich U16’s 12 - Tewkesbury U16’s 0

Sunday, 18th March, 2007

Droitwich RFC entertained Tewkesbury RFC U16’s for the first time and faced a stern test of both nerve and character to overcome a spirited side.

Both sides posed problems for each other throughout the match. It was only strong defensive play and discipline that kept Tewkesbury from scoring. Additionally, a strong cross wind made life difficult for all.

The opening try came from Adam Gwilliam who smashed his way through the Tewkesbury defence to race clear to score under the posts.

Charles Jackson added the second early in the second half to extend the home side’s advantage. Bobby Scott Walker converted his attempt to add a further two points.
