Broadstreet RFC U15’s 7 - Droitwich RFC U15’s 10

Sunday 2nd April 2006

Droitwich U15’s travelled to Coventry to play Broadstreet on Sunday and in difficult conditions came from behind to record a well earned win.

The first half saw Droitwich kicking into a strong breeze and facing a tough start in the conditions, but managed to put Broadstreet under a lot of pressure. Broadstreet opened the scoring after a miss tackle unlocked Droitwich’s defence.  Droitwich then cam back strongly with Harry Baillie replying for Droitwich to score next to the posts from a five metre scrum. Bobby Scott-Walker’s conversion levelled the score at 7 - 7.

The second half saw both teams looking for the winner, both sides going close on a number of occasions, with Droitwich having the majority of possession. Good defence from Broadstreet kept the Droitwich attack at bay with Luke Harris and Will Baillon going close. The winner came from a penalty with Scott-Walker slotting it through the posts to ease the nerves, Droitwich then closed out the game through good defence.

Sam Davenport and Jacob Phillips were awarded Man of the Match for Droitwich.
