Monday, 16th January, 2006
Droitwich RFC’s Junior sides completed a clean sweep on Sunday with the U13’s, U14’s & U15’s winning their games.
The U13’s overcame a strong Stratford upon Avon side to record an impressive win 15 – 10, while the U14’s and U15’s move into the next round of the North Midland’s cup competition after winning both their games.
The U14’s were victorious over Hereford in a close game that finished 5 – 12 in favour of the Spa side. They will now play Old Hales or Bourneville at home in the next round on February 5th.
The U15’s put in a superb display to run out easy winners against Old Salts winning the game convincingly 70 – 0. The U15’s returned to top form and put on an excellent display of attacking rugby. Tries came from Harry Baille, Luke Harris (3), Charles Jackson, Calum Kinghorn, Shaun Hooper, Jack Pomroy (3), Tom Stedman and Adam Gwilliam. With a difficult breeze to contend with Bobby Scott-Walker scored 5 of his conversion attempts.
Jacob Phillips was on top form, with Hooper and Stedman driving the forwards on, allowing Pomroy and Harris to run riot in the backs. A brilliant first half performance earned Joe Perkins the m.o.m award. Droitwich U15’s will now play Kings Norton or Camphill away in the next round on February 5th.
