Player Development Programmes
The Minis & Juniors section at Droitwich Rugby Club has a well established schools and representative development programme. Our players have gone on to represent the county and region at boys U14, U15, U16 and colts.
RFU Seal of Approval
Droitwich RFC is proud to have been awarded the RFU's prestigious Seal of Approval certificate. The Seal of Approval scheme is a joint initiative between the RFU, Sport England and the Active Sports programme and is designed to raise the standards of youth rugby across the country. This accreditation formally recognises the club as a safe, effective and child friendly environment and reflects the high quality of work done by club volunteers over the years.
Droitwich RFC are the first club in the Midlands to achieve the Seal of Approval Year 3 award and have been awarded RFU Midlands West Club of the Year 2007 because of their achievements and work within the local community.
Representative Development Programme
Droitwich has a comprehensive player development programme. Full encouragement and support is provided by the club for those players who aspire to play at county or higher levels. With DRFC coaches actively involved in the RFU county training programme we are able to provide our players with the best opportunity of experiencing representative rugby.
Schools Development Programme
DRFC has always considered itself part of the local community and have active coaches in the local schools providing rugby within the school environment. In conjunction with Wychavon Active Sports programme, we currently coach in all primary, middle and high schools within the local community.
Coach Development Programme
All DRFC coaches have been on a child protection course and have been police checked as part of their coaching responsibilities. All coaches are actively encouraged to attend RFU approved coaching courses and a structured development programme for coaches is used to identify and satisfy their requirements. This ensures that our coaching staff have the latest coaching information and techniques available. We also ensure that each age group has a head coach and at least one assistant coach.
